1677996000 Live Music Rock Out with Your Schnoz Out: The COVID Play HopKins Black Box Theatre March 5, 2023 March 5, 2023 2:30 PM 3:30 PM BUT WHAT IS IT? During the live taping of the hit variety show, "Rock Out With Your [bleep] Out," co-host Tristan Goudreaux's nose breaks free. Hilarity ensues as Tristan tries to keep the three-year (No)COVID anniversary show going while attempting to recapture his wayward facial appendage. HOW CAN I RESERVE A SEAT? Go to the link above, fill out the form, and show up 15 minutes early to the HopKins Black Box (137 Coates Hall, LSU). IS THIS SHOW APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN? While this show is a comedy, it is not necessarily intended for young children. To make it easier, and in correspondence with the current television rating system in the United States, this performance is rated: *TV MA (sexual situations, suggestive language, sexually graphic language)* HOW LONG IS IT? The show runs about 42 minutes, with no intermission. WILL I LAUGH? We hope so. WILL I CRY? We hope not. WILL THERE BE AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION? Yes, but only if you want to . . . I TEACH AT LSU, SHOULD I INVITE MY STUDENTS? Yes! One of the goals of this show is to use it as a pedagogical tool to look at how we as a society can use comedy to deal with collective traumatic experiences (without creating more trauma). If you are interested in how this would work, I would be happy to talk to you about using this show in your class or coming in to talk with your students. I also realize that you might not be able to get all of your students to attend the show, so I will have video recordings of select scenes from the show, along with a study guide for the classroom, both available on request. WHO SHOULD I CONTACT FOR MORE INFORMATION? Please email me (Naomi), the director, if you have any questions: nbenn11@lsu.edu
