Join Louisiana's favorite voice coach (Backstage Magazine) for a Saturday afternoon session of fun and packed with information which will help you to enhance your career as a performer - whether on-camera, on stage, or behind the mic.
Work with scripts and discuss elements of the voice-over business in a group environment, supported and coached by Stephen James - an experienced and prolific professional voice actor, award-winning voice coach, and specialist voice-over agent and Founder and Executive Director of The NOLA Voice Talent Foundation.
Whether you are an established or aspiring performer on-stage, on-screen, on-camera, or behind-the-mic, you will enjoy the fun, professional-yet-informal, and informative workshops atmosphere for which Stephen James has become acclaimed in over ten years as a voice coach.

Baton Rouge - LUNA Fête Artist Training is hosted by Arts Council New Orleans. Artists workshops are geared towards local and regional artists who produce works using light, technology, and interactivity. Or those looking to project their work for the first time.
Due to recognized disparities within the technology field women and black artists are strongly encouraged to apply.
Introduction to Light-Based Art & Projection Mapping
This class provides an overview of digital media arts and projection mapping, showcasing projects and possibilities for art illumination. Projection mapping is a projection technique that can turn any 2d or 3d object into a surface for video projection. Class includes a demonstration of Mad Mapper software and in-class tutorial to assist students in beginning projection mapping practices and execution.
Classes are taught by Gabe BC, a mixed media artist whose work focuses on collections, memorialization and the act of leaving one's digital imprint for the next generation.
General registration is $30 or $20 for Arts Council Member artists.

Masquerade Reception: Friday, October 18th, 6-8pm. Catering by City Pork. Costume/mask strongly encouraged.
Kelsey Livingston’s artwork explores the concepts of ephemerality, and potential through a visual metaphor. She uses birds and space imagery in a combination of printmaking processes to form anthropomorphic narrative imagery. She is interested in the relationship one has to their own mortality and place in the cosmos. She’s working through questions like: How does one deal with oblivion? Does the knowledge of death affect how one approaches new life, or the concept of potential? Each work is representative of a moment her life. The title of each piece is meant to hint at its message. Influenced by writers like Carl Sagan, Gaston Bachelard, she looks to others who talk about phenomenology through the lenses of science and philosophy. |

"I am an educator and a comedian and a musician and a writer and a puppeteer and a fiber artist and a costumer and I have at least a dozen browser tabs opened at this very moment researching my next creative pursuits. While I am consistently in awe of the professional craftspeople I study through my research, it is my aim to illuminate the value of being a diversified intermediate- achieving a passable degree of expertise in multitude of areas, rather than focusing on the mastery of only one."
Kristen Foster
[Educator/Writer/Musician/Comedian/Puppeteer]
Kristen Foster is a Nashville, Tennessee native who has called Baton Rouge her home for the past 15 years. After earning a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Louisiana State University, she began her career as a high school English teacher at Episcopal School of Baton Rouge, where she continues to teach American Literature and a variety of special topics courses such as Science Fiction, Poetry, and Comedy Writing. When not in the classroom, Kristen divides her time among her creative passions which include playing with her band, Polly Pry; performing with her improv comedy troupes; puppeteering on the LPB arts education program, Ziggy’s Arts Adventure; and regularly contributing stories to Country Roads Magazine. A lifelong, curious creative, Kristen has never been able to resist the allure of new hobbies, leading to her acquisition of numerous disparate skills, including playing the musical saw, hand embroidery, and home recording, to name a few.

Playing professionally since 1996, released his first CD under his own name in 2013. "The Jackal" featuries Derek Douget, Jason Marsalis, Shane Theriot, David Torkanowsky, Rex Gregory and other established young stars. He’s also recorded with Ellis Marsalis, Jason Marsalis, Irma Thomas, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Theresa Andersson, The Hot Club of New Orleans and John Boutte, among others. He currently performs regularly with Germaine Bazzle, Shannon Powell, Jason Marsalis and Irvin Mayfield.
Harris received both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of New Orleans, where he was a Louis Armstrong Scholarship recipient in 2003. He’s served as a clinician at Loyola University in New Orleans, Tulane University, Baton Rouge Community College, International JAZZ Workshop in Innsbruck, Austria and several high schools throughout south Louisiana. In addition to teaching applied bass at UNO, Harris is currently on faculty at the Don Jamison Heritage School of Music, The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s Signature Education Program. |

Brian Shaw, former professor of trumpet and jazz studies at LSU, is returning to Baton Rouge with a special group of friends — the 17-piece Bellevue College Jazz Band, for a one-night-only performance at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center. It all takes place June 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Based in Seattle, Bellevue College is one of the significant contributors to the rich history of jazz education in the Northwest. Its jazz band has performed at festivals throughout the US, receiving top honors at the Lionel Hampton, Reno and Fullerton Jazz Festivals. It has also performed in concert in Europe, South America, Asia, Washington D.C. and, most recently, New Orleans.
Joining the group for this magical evening are some of Shaw’s Louisiana buddies: bassist Bill Grimes, pianist Oscar Rossignoli, guitarist Steve Masakowski, drummer Chad Braud and saxophonists Roderick Paulin and Brad Walker.
