Celebrate the end of your Summer with a bang!
Spark is a one-day fest of music, art, food and lots more at Beauvoir Park here in Baton Rouge, LA that you definitely do not want to miss out on. Admission is $10 at the gate, children 12 and under get in free! The event kicks off at 4pm with music starting at 5, going till 1am. Music will be featured on the Crosscut Stage outside as well as inside the Pavilion. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and ice chests and come enjoy the music on the lawn!

The Main Entrance to Spark will be across the street from Bet-R and Duvic's, beneath the Perkins overpass, leading down a path with clear markings to the entrance of the venue. Bio:
Julian Primeaux is the son of soul and southern gospel by way of the Atchafalaya Basin. Hailing from the swamps of Lafayette, Louisiana, the blues runs deep in his songs of both heartache & joy. Revelation don’t come on the mountain, it comes way down in the valley where you’ll find him preaching his electric sermons.
As a fourth generation musician, Julian has been groomed from a very young age to perform. His passion for playing guitar started when he was 8 and at the age of 12, Julian began performing live on a regular basis. Ever since, he has sang and played everywhere from clubs in Louisiana to concert halls in Europe.

Hey friends! So we haven't played a live show in front of actual people since March. On October 9th we'll make our debut at Beauvoir Park!
On October 9th, doors open at 6:30 and we plan to start playing music at 7:30pm. We've got a ton of NEW songs that we'll be playing that night for the first time safely to a socially distanced crowd. It’s Dalton's birthday so come celebrate at the park!!!
Beauvoir Park is a large OUT-DOOR area, and we are limiting the attendees on October 9th to 100 people. There is enough space for everyone to spread out, and still enjoy the music, but we'll need your help with making this night a success.
What to expect:
-Please wear your masks as you wait to check get in the area, and if you are within 6ft of someone not in your group that you arrived with.
-There will be people at the door taking temperatures, so get there early to help make the check-in quick and smooth.
-Bring blankets, chairs, and whatever devices you need to help ensure 6 feet social distance from your nearest concert attendees.
-Please be respectful of other's space, and requests. We are all here to have a great time, listen to some great music, and do so as safely as possible.
-If you feel sick or have come in contact with someone with COVID-19 within 2 weeks of the show please STAY HOME! There will be more shows to come but we want everyone to be healthy for them.

ABOUT JONTAVIOUS WILLIS:
Every generation or so, a young bluesman bursts onto the scene and sends a jolt through the blues community. Jontavious Willis may just have that effect on people. The 24-year-old multi-instrumentalist was nominated for a GRAMMY in 2020 thanks to his latest album, Spectacular Class. Through original lyrics written by Willis himself, the gifted musician delivers a timeless album that features dynamic vocals and all types of blues: Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel. His stand-out fingerpicking, flat-picking, and slide prowess are also on display.
Hailing from Greenville, Georgia, Willis grew up singing Gospel music at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with his grandfather. Since an early age, he had the talent and passion for the music and the ability to sharpen his skills fast. At the age of 14, he came across a YouTube video of Muddy Waters playing “Hoochie Coochie Man” and was instantly hooked on the blues.
He got his much-needed break from the living legend Taj Mahal, who described him as the “Wonderboy” and “the Wunderkind.” In 2015, Mahal asked Willis to play on stage with him. That appearance resulted in a roaring response from the audience and led Willis to bigger stages and broader opportunities, including an opening slot at select shows along the TajMo tour, featuring his musical mentors Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’.

Bio:
In the heat of the New Orleans summer, four musicians decided to put their they love to the people they love. The result was Retrofit, a dare-devil birthed to create ear-catching melodies and a blend of bold flavors that everyone can enjoy. Inspired by the rhythmic nature of the Big Easy along with the rich musical heritage of the Louisiana, them boys simply had to open their ears to let in the music that has inspired their signature sound. Songwriter and vocalist Christopher DiBenedetto (Gravy, Strange Roux), has taken his influence from memories of growing up in this flavorful south Louisiana region. Putting them into stories of love, redemption, and self-discovery with a unique twang that sticks with the listener through and true. With roots all forms of Soul music, Retrofit seeks to create sound waves to revive the spirits of its audience.
The group started by making a one night trip to Pensacola, Florida to play an opening slot for a friends band in the area. After enjoying the set and coming together as a group, they couldn't resist but to make it official. Today, Retrofit plays locally around their hometown in New Orleans, while continuing to tour the southern region. Having released their debut EP Be Easy in December of 2017, the quartet is beyond thrilled to spread the same love they've received from the city that has inspired them so much. Retrofit has played at such New Orleans venues a 30/90, Banks Street Bar & Grill, GasaGasa, Le Bon Temps Roule, Troubadour Hotel, The Basin Lounge, Oak Wine Bar, Rare Form, and the 2019 Banks Street Festival. In Baton Rouge the boys have played the Spanish Moon, Hartley/Vey Theater, Huey’s Bar, Lock & Key Whiskey Bar, and at the 2018 annual North Gate Festival.

BIO:
Honey Island Swamp Band bass player, Sam Price started the True Believers in Dec. 2015 as an outlet for his original songwriting and singing. The band has quickly gained popularity in New Orleans. Their debut EP was chosen as the ‘Best Roots Rock Album of 2017’ by Offbeat Magazine. They were awarded a grant by the Threadhead Cultural Foundation the following year to record the 2019 album Dragonfly, produced by Papa Mali.
Call it Soul Rock, New Orleans Roots Rock, Funk and Roll or Blue-Eyed Soul. The True Believers deliver songs that are alternately upbeat and rocking, slinky and funky, or mellow and poignant, with lyrics that are honest, thoughtful, and “so from the heart, it hurts!”

Seeing Jimmy Wooten perform is an experience you'll never forget! You'll hear guitar solos played straight from the heart, a soulful ferocity in his voice and an energy from the stage that's sure to move you. His sound is Americana with deep roots in the blues,country and rock/soul . Since 2015 Jimmy has toured internationally as the bassist for platinum selling country music legend, Neal McCoy, playing everywhere from the largest country music festivals to the Grand Ole Opry. During this time Jimmy was learning from Neal McCoy's one of a kind entertainment style and also playing 100 or so shows a year with his band and quickly building a following and a reputation for high energy shows. Starting in 2021 Jimmy has stopped touring with Neal McCoy. Partnering with Tough Luck Records, Jimmy just released his first single of 2022 titled, "Lay You Down" which is available on all digital platforms. Jimmy is currently touring the US doing solo shows as well as with his band. If this is the 1st time you've heard of Jimmy Wooten, it won't be the last! |

The High Divers Bio:
The High Divers have seen some things. There are scars adorning each member that serve as constant reminders that the traveling rock n’ roll lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. After narrowly surviving a bloody scene with a semi on an Arizona Highway in 2017, and a stage silencing pandemic, the band has proved its resilience and dedication to crafting albums that they can continue to be proud of. With the release of their newest record, “Should I be Worried” due out April 2023, the band is breathing a sigh of relief in finally getting the Sadler Vaden produced album out into the hands of their fans. “The return to live shows with all of the excitement and energy behind these new songs is going to be really healing for everyone involved”, says guitarist and singer, Luke Mitchell, “We’ve held onto some of these songs for almost three years now, and it’s felt like an absolute eternity!”
Recorded in Nashville at BattleTapes and Marshall, NC at The High Divers’ own Out There Studios, this record serves as a patchwork of where the band has been and where they are going, with great care taken in curating nuanced and eclectic songs that weave into a colorful psychedelic sonic tapestry. “When you have this long to compile songs and really live with them, there are certain ones that just jump out and continue to have that sheen that keeps us all excited” says Mary Alice, whose song “Pieces” is a sparse and hauntingly beautiful look into the past “We were young, we were stupid, we were free, we were broken”.
Formed in 2014 in Charleston, South Carolina, The High Divers hit the ground running with raucous live shows and a strong debut album recorded with Wolfgang Zimmerman. The follow up album, “Chicora", was released to much critical acclaim, earning the band an even wider and more dedicated fan base. Perhaps the bands most well known work was 2019’s “Ride With you” EP also produced by Jason Isbell & 400 unit guitarist, Sadler Vaden. A fixture of the South Carolina music scene, The High Divers are known for their charismatic on-stage swagger and ability to get the crowd unabashedly involved. The band is comprised of Luke Mitchell (Vocals/Guitar), Mary Alice Mitchell (Keyboards/Synth/Vocals) and Kevin Early (Bass/Vocals). The High Divers have been covered by Rolling Stone, Paste, Performer Magazine, KDHX, Popmatters, Americana UK, among many others.
The High Divers new album will be accompanied by a string of tour dates around the country. “Should I be Worried” will be released April 7th, 2023 and available for streaming everywhere. |

Enjoy a talented line-up of local comedians perform in this special edition gender-bending show while enjoying BYOB at the legendary Beauvoir Park.
Comedians will lip sync and tell jokes dressed in drag (for what may be their very first time). After their comedy sets, they’ll answer beauty pageant style questions while competing for the title of King or Queen of Baton Rouge.

The HMH crew has joined forces with some friends around town to bring you our version of what a wine dinner looks like in 2025.
Great food, great wine and a little bit of the get up on the get down (shoes optional) with friends and family on a Friday night.
We'll start the night with a patron party from 6-7pm with music from the BR Music Studio who we host at curbside frequently and then Doussan, Garrett, & Benoit take the main stage at 7 to rock the night away.
The dress is casual, picnic blankets and fest chairs are welcome and all kids are invited (under 12 is free of charge).
