Churchill's Presents Essential Groove Essential Groove started well over 10 years ago as a brand which hosts events around Johannesburg. Since then it has become a household name and hosted awesome events at venues such as Nicci Beach, Kong, VSP, Suede, Malabar, Platinum, Voodoo Lounge, FTV, Stones, Harvard Cafe ect. Dj Byron being the owner of the brand decided to Dj under the name "Essential Groove" as of beginning of 2010 to distinguish him from other "Byrons" in the industry. As a Dj he has been playing for more than 10 years and was resident @ FTV Cedar Square since inception, other residencies he has had include Nicci Beach, Anti Est and Groovecafe, he has also played @ places such as LIV, Randlords, KONG, Mykonos, Icon, The Venue, Tao, Fooba, Betegos, Tys, Barcode, Club Aero(Mozambique), Italian Club, Boulevard, Newscafe', Sutra, Laboom, Kokos, Villa Moura, Manhattan, Tiger Tiger, MINX, Tys, Mihouse, Harvard Cafe, Stones, Latinova, Vacca Matta, Billy The Bums, Chilli Lounge, Voodoo Lounge, Taboo, Soweto towers, ZAR, Sky Lounge, SET, Chocolate Box,Avastar, Eden, Sugar, NYC, Anti Est, Liquid Motion and countless other venues... Because of his ability 2 play any genre of music and he is one of very few Vjs around he can adapt to pretty much any crowd, commercial or very underground and across all racial barriers, so dont expect the same set from him at different venues whether it be a full on Hip Hop or RnB set to deep to jackin to electro ect ect. He also used 2 co-run Voodoo Lounge and co own BAMBU and hosted the "Jackin Essential Groove Platform" @ H20 and The "Mark Stent Essential Groove" floor at ULTRAFEST(Voodoo Lounge)!!! He has played along the biggest names in the industry and has even played for Paris Hilton, Robert Rey and many other celebrities!!! His genre of music is so diverse its difficult to put him into a particular genre. However he does specialize in Hip Hop.
